Dear Chris and Rebekah, It would appear that I have a few comments to make, ones that don’t seem to fit into the pre- and post-class banter that happens. I have written this letter in my mind many times so I hope those words stay with me now that I have finally agreed to put fingers to keyboard. It is nothing new or revolutionary that I have to say, things I am sure that you know for yourselves, but I still feel the need to share with you this bit of my brain space. In no uncertain terms, this is my testimony. Michael recently observed to me that I attended my first Bikram class in 2002. That doesn’t really count, I thought to myself. After that first experience in the studio, I remember walking out of there thinking that Bikram yoga is possibly the dumbest thing in the world. Who does that? Sweaty room, teachers that yell at you and the same postures every time? Painful and boring, I smugly told myself as I ran out the door. I’ll never do that again. read more |

| A couple jars of antacids per month was all it took to keep my indigestion at bay. Part stress and part genetics all spicey foods a even bland foods made my system uncomfortable, the problem...I like spicey foods.
I began a regular yoga practice shortly after the Bozeman Bikram studio opened. Within six months I noticed a decrease in the need for antacids and after a year I had stopped using them! It has been five years now and the only slight indigestion I have had is when I have not been to yoga for two or more weeks. Sometimes I find the 90 minute class to be pure hell, but, I always feel better afterwards and I can eat whatever I damn well please! Bruce |
